Ding Dong, the rat is dead.......

Please excuse me, i'm writing in my underwear cos it is SO HOT i am literally melting. It's Auckland Anniversary Day and we made the mistake of trying to go to a craft fair down at a popular beach called Mission Bay - it was so packed and so hot and people were actually fighting over parking spaces. So we abandoned the crowds and went to sit under a tree away from it all and had a picnic, and now we're at home and everyone's in the bath cooling off.

We've had a nice weekend catching up with Adrian's eldest brother, and Leah enjoyed meeting her little cousin. I would say that Jenna enjoyed meeting him too, but i'm afraid little Sam was far too fond of terrorising her and pulling her hair, so they spent the majority of the weekend screaming at each other. Leah, invariably would be the tale-teller, as 4 year olds are so adept at being. We'd have an update every 5 minutes or so..."Aunty Rachael, Sam's pulling Jenna's hair...." or "Mummeeeeeeeee, Jenna's hitting Sam...." Exhausting! The photo above is one of the few peaceful moments they all sat nicely together.

Back to kindy tomorrow, woohoo! Although the summer holidays haven't been as hard as i thought they'd be - the kids were very easy to entertain and they've got on really well on the whole, i think Jenna's going to really miss Leah when she goes back.

Babysitting the twins was interesting. They're the same age as Heidi so i wasn't too nervous, but as soon as Paddie left they both started howling, so i was balancing one on each hip which worked for a while until i was sure my arms were about to fall off. Jack settled down when i put him in his chair but Saoirse just wanted to be cuddled - it wasn't hard as such, just really BUSY - i have new respect for parents of twins! It got me away from the rat for a night, anyway!

And by the way,................................IT'S DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wooooooooooooooo!! I'm so happy :) Now all i need is to win Lotto and i'll be the happiest woman ever.

Off to feed the babe now, then Anne & Des are coming over to babysit the big two whilst adrian goes to rehearsal and i sit and drink wine with the other band widows, Daisy and Emma. Love and hugs to all, j xx
