Xlylophones and willies

Can you believe it's April already?????

Hmmmm, had my first massage practical today - wasn't nervous, a little apprehensive perhaps at being in a non-child environment....... It was really hard work and i feel completely drained, exhausted and sore now. I didn't enjoy giving the massage because i was so concerned with getting everything right rather than just going with the flow, and as a result i was feeling so tense i didn't even enjoy receiving massage. I got out at the end of the day and just sobbed on adrian's shoulder - it's really knocked my confidence being at home for 5 years with little to challenge me intellectually and i found it so hard to concentrate and to retain information. I ate my tea, had a warm bath and vowed never to go back, but now i've calmed down a wee bit ( with a bit of help from an obliging bottle of Sauvignon Blanc!) and read through my notes and supplemented them a bit, i feel a bit better and looking forward to tomorrow. It was just one of those situations where, although everyone was in the same boat having never massaged before, i felt they all knew what they were doing and i really didn't. And, as usual with everything it seems, i was by far the youngest there so that always makes me feel inferior to start with. I know it shouldn't, but hey, these are my hang ups! We did backs and shoulders today and tomorrow it's legs, abdominals and facial massage and an assessment at the end of the day.

But on to more light-hearted matters! My darling daughters have become rather preoccupied with the difference between men and women, especially Jenna. Every man that comes on the telly; the news readers, singers, even good old Tony Blair himself, warrants the quip "he's got a willy", quite matter-of-factly; it's getting rather tiresome and i'm not sure i want to be thinking of Tony Blair's genitalia to be honest!!! But yesterday i heard this raucous laughter coming from the bedroom and i peer in and Leah's just rolling around on the floor in hysterics at a song jenna's singing "i've seen daddy's wiiiiillllllllyyyyyyy". That in itself wasn't especially funny, but leah laughing was and the fact that by about half an hour later, this beautiful little composition had full on xylophone and recorder accompaniment to it. ( seriously - who invented the recorder? I HATE that noise!!!) I'll put it down to a phase and ignore it and worry about it when she starts talking about it in public.............!

House is almost ready for the visitors, just a mammoth pile of washing to deal with, a bit of furniture rearrangement and a bit of hoovering in places i haven't bothered to hoover since we moved in :)

Adrian is out with his brother watching a band or something; he declined my offer of a massage ( probably wise as i'm sure it's not good to have the masseuse weeping over her clients!), so i'm going to make the most of a bed to myself. Night all, love you all lots :) And oh, huge congratulations Carey; i'm really thrilled for you honey! xxx
