Oh what a blustery day...
Well, i've had to wear my winter coat at last! Not so much because it's been cold, more that we've got severe gale force winds going on outside and most of Auckland is without power. Ours has just this minute come back on, and the first thing i did was make a cup of tea; i've been gagging for one all morning! I heard one report on the radio that they were hurricane force winds, but i don't think it's quite that bad. It was a bit freaky walking to kindy today though, and then to get all the way there and for the headteacher to tell us they were closed because of the power cut. Thank heavens for a newly-acquired stash of birthday presents to get us through the day!
We visited Ivan and Rachael's (adrian's brother and his wife) new house in Newmarket yesterday, and stayed for fish and chips........ we got enough for 7 adults from a shop in Mount Eden (rather posh) and it cost $100!!!!! A single piece of fish cost $10.....we were absolutely speechless. It was very nice though, and so you'd hope, at that price.
Anyhoo, will leave you with some new photos, Leah in her school uniform *sob* ( she starts next monday), the girls all rugged up this morning against the wind, and adrian with all his girls. Have just closed all the front curtains as this wind is getting extremely strong, things are flying around outside and the trees are pretty much at a 45 degree angle.....hope you're all enjoying your nice summery weather back home!! xxx
