Just had to share
I don't want to post this with heidi's birthday pictures for obvious reasons, but i just have to share because, well, just because. Those of you who have read my entire blog (you poor things!) may remember in our old house back at the beginning of the year, that we had something living in the roof which i had convinced myself was a rat. Turned out it was just a possum which wasn't so bad. Anyway. This morning i was just about to put the washing out after a lovely chat with emma on the phone when the girls came running indoors looking rather panicked and managed to breathlessly blurt out that there was a dead rat on the back doorstep. I didn't believe them at first as being cooped up has done funny things to their imaginations this week, but upon insistence and the distinct lack of giggles that usually accompany their fibs, i went to the doorstep and this is what i found......
I phoned adrian at work, and can you believe the cheek of him - he told me to move it!!!!!! Yeah, LIKELY! Eww eww ewww ewwww EWWWWWW - WHY do nasty things like this always happen to meeeee?? I have a feeling that it may have come from next door - they have a garage full of sacks of onions and flour and stuff so that's my immediate suspicion.
Eww.
If i was brave i'd move it but i'm not, so i'll just have to wait until adrian gets home and continue to shudder every time i walk past the back door.
Eww.
It's just occurred to me that i should be exceptionally grateful that heidi is feeling so clingy today - usually the kids open the back door and she's out like a shot. I have no doubt in my mind that i would have gone out to find her playing with the rat. I'm feeling very very nauseous, i must say, just thinking about it. Obviously she got chickenpox for a reason!

Yuck, indeed, but at least it wasn't moving.
