Rain ....
What a day - it has rained non-stop and i got literally soaked from head to toe taking heidi to the docs today. Then a lorry went past and, if possible, got me even more wet. Humph.
Poor poor heidi is just one big pox. What a way to spend your 1st birthday. I took her to the docs because some of her spots are infected so she's in a lot of discomfort. Here she is having a bath in some Pinetarsol today - what a sorry sight!
I'm doing a lot of "this time last year" thinking today, and this time last year (!) my waters had broken in the middle of a crowded baby store in Botany, 3 weeks early, and i had been for a long walk to try and speed things up, to no avail. I'd phoned my mum, watched Friends, had a couple of contractions, but nothing more. In the end i sat up all night having contractions regularly every 10 minutes and watched BBC World all night, and at 6am i got up and walked for another hour. While i was out my midwife phoned and she and adrian had a big panic because neither of them knew where i was (!) so i got back, had a shower, went to sleep for a few hours, left a very nervous Uncle David with the girls ( i found out later he bribed them 5 lollipops each to be good!!!) and went off to the maternity unit at 9am to meet the midwife Helen. We were allowed out to the shops to buy a carseat and other essential things that we hadn't yet bought, and made our way back. En route adrian decided he needed sustenance so stopped at a bakery and took what felt like half an hour deciding to get a sausage roll whilst i'm busy contracting away in the car; got back at 11am and Heidi was born at 12.25 on the 3rd. I was so pleased to have another little girl, and she's just been such a delight to have around. She's definitely one of the gang now and she adores her big sisters. Awww, i just feel so emotional tonight - how has it been a whole year???
Anyway *sniff*....off to watch ER now. Lots of love to you all xxx
