All a bit shaky...
There were no fewer than THREE earthquakes last night in Auckland. I don't do earthquakes. I had to sleep with a torch next to my bed and make sure my civil defence pack was all up to date - i am SUCH a worry wart! And this morning i have been drilling the children in being turtles under the table if there is a big earthquake. They were, admittedly, only little baby 4.5 earthquakes but still. It all makes me decidedly nervous, especially as it is not usual to have earthquakes in Auckland. NZ Herald has a full report (ooh, i feel like a newsreader!)
Oh, to be in safe, non-volcanic, not-straddling-tectonic-plates England!
I feel like a proper grown up today....i have my very first Parent-Teacher evening! Looking forward to actually hearing from someone how Leah is getting on at school; she is a fantastic little reader and is so interested in everything, has made good friends and seems to really like it, so hopefully Miss Keswell can reiterate that.
Anyhoo, i'm having a big tidy up today, not least because someone is coming over to babysit while adrian and i go out tonight and i'd be embarassed to let anyone in my house at present with the state it's in. Toodlepip!

We've been here since 1989 and that was the first time we had encountered an earthquake ,very freaky. Hope there aren't any more.
