The joys of having one child
I'm officially allowed to say it now, so
Congratulations James and Carey, who got married last week!! Still smiling for the pair of you
Have just worked out how to put emoticons on my blog, so expect a bit of emoticon-overload!
Had a lovely day yesterday, Leah and Jenna were whisked away to Waiwera hot pools by their fab Aunty Rachael and Uncle Ivan for the day. So Heidi had us all to herself for the day, and boy, did we make the most of it! We went for a walk, then went swimming, then had breakfast at the garden centre. Adrian had his usual Mexican breakfast and i had french toast with the usual, maple syrup, bananas and bacon, which was divine, except that the chef had obviously tried to be clever and put cooked tomato and rosemary potatoes with it too Tomatoes and banana are NOT a good mix. Neither, come to that, is rosemary potatoes and strawberry coulis. Most peculiar.
Whilst madam had a sleep Adrian and i watched United 93; totally child-unsuitable film, hoorah! Obviously very sad movie, but very well made and we recommend it.
Then after a bit more lounging we went out to Nosh, a posh foodie shop in Glen Innes, full of lots of breakable things and again, completely unsuitable for small people. We decided if we won lotto that we would do our weekly food shop there as it is divine. And very expensive.
Then we took Heidi to the big pet shop to look at the puppies and kittens and entertained the notion of getting a puppy for about 3 seconds. Then we realised that we actually had two more children to go and pick up and abandoned that idea.
Why oh WHY did we not appreciate having only one child when we had one child??
And i am very excited that Take That have been on telly with Torvill and Dean and Philip Schofield....i literally cannot wait to watch it. For now, i am going to watch the Railway Children again with Jenna. I cannot go out in public due a nasty eye infection that scares everone within a 1 mile radius, and it is making me most self-conscious. So slobbing it is, then! xxx
