Taupo

Back from a fab weekend in Taupo with Sheryl, Paddie, Katie and Kylie....back to normality and chores and school runs and washing.......etc etc etc! We had a great time, with lots of sleep, yummy cafe breakfasts and drinking and dancing on tables. Am still feeling a bit seedy so i'll let the photos speak for themselves!First night in the backpackers, meeting random Spaniards and Swiss men. Andre, Paddie, Carlos and Kylie.

Martin from Switzerland, my rather merry self, and Ana from Chile.

Hmmm, spot the drinkers! L-R: Andre, Carlos, Katie, Kylie, Sheryl, Paddie, Martin and Ana.

Myself, Sheryl, Katie and Paddie......Saturday evening BEFORE drinking

In the pub, with a random tagger-on, Kevin.

Drunk too much at this point perhaps? Not sure what pose this was meant to be!

Definitely drunk too much - no idea who my new friends are!

Self portrait on the dancefloor, Paddie, me and Sheryl.

No landscape shots or anything, no nice scenery....just lots of random people! While we were in Taupo though there was a lahar on Mt Ruapehu, which wouldn't have been all that far away from where we were, but we didn't know about it until we got back to Auckland. Amazing how smoggy Auckland is as well, you really don't notice until you get out of the city and into the lovely fresh air of the rest of New Zealand. We're already planning a trip to Wellington next year....can't wait!

Adrian coped fine with the kids for the weekend although he did remark on how lonely it was doing it on your own. He took teh girls to Auckland Zoo on Saturday and apparently Heidi's favourite bit was when a common sparrow landed on a fence near to her!

Anyhoo, Sheryl's birthday today so off for cream cakes and presents for morning tea. It's not a bad life!
