5 years old today :)
What a day! Yes, my baby girl is finally 5; i've been all emotional about it today for it seems like only yesterday she was a tiny wee babe. More to the point, i've been a mother for FIVE WHOLE YEARS!!!! And yet i still don't know what i'm doing half the time!
She opened up all her presents this morning; thank you to nanny and grandad for the personal stereo, to mum and dad for the dinosaur towel and emma and tom and boys for the lovely craft stuff :) We gave her a new raincoat, some new pyjamas, a puzzle and some dinosaur activity bits and bobs. And adrian gave her $5, which she was really chuffed with. She had a great time at kindy, i didn't hink i would get emotional there, i thought i might hold it together but then her teacher started saying how proud she was of leah and what a lovely girl she was, that i started blubbering all over again.
The we came home, and it was a really dark, gloomy aftrenoon, so we did some puzzles and some activity books, and then i sat down with a cuppa to watch the World Cup highlights. I was watching David Beckham talk after the match, when in an instant, the telly went green and flashed off, there was a huge flash of light outside the window accompanied with the loudest bang i have ever heard and glass smashing. I instinctively pretty much jumped on the kids and then realised it was just thunder........except seriously, the loudest thunder i have ever heard. The whole house shook, and as you can see from the photo, my bedside lamp smashed all over my pillow with the force the house shook. Thank heavens it wasn't night time or i think my face would be in a lot of trouble; it literally shattered everywhere.
So anyway, that was our exciting day. Having a quiet weekend before the big first day of school on monday. Thanks for all your birthday wishes for the girls, we especially liked your painting, laura :) Love and kisses to everyone xxx

Hi Jo!
I too remember when Leah was born, I was in the USA and had an email at work to tell me, I cant believe how time has flown!
Clearly you are doing a wonderful job, the girls always look so happy!
Hope the weather clears up soon, we are experiencing the opposite here, NY is already in the 80's and will only get hotter!
Take good care,
Love Carey xxx
