Another bad day.....
I'm pretty sure it was last Monday i had a shocker of a day and it's looking like today might be much the same. Upon dressing Jenna this morning we found that she has The Pox (Chicken not Small) and is feeling a bit under the weather. So i wrapped her all up and put her in the buggy to go to school. 5 minutes into our journey there wasa big bang and i thought maybe we had driven over a balloon, but no, it was my tyre expolding - AGAIN! So i literally had to carry the buggy up the hill so as not to damage the rim and now i think my arm may actually fall off.
The one good thing is that i learned compresses in my aromatherapy class yesterday so i'm sitting here with Roman Chamomile on my sore arm, wrapped up in clingfilm and towels and a hot water bottle; it's lovely :) Kinda wish i was at home so i could get my hands on all of you and soothe your cares away with lovely aromatherapy massages; i'm really enjoying it, and the tutor is lovely, she's from England; she's just fab and i'm learning so much and finding any excuse to use my oils!
i made all my muffins and oh my, i was exhausted when i'd finished. I must have looked an absolute sight carting a sack ( that was all i could find to transport the muffins in!) and a buggy filled with a big casserole pot ( for milo) , sleeping bags, pillows and a ladle hanging out of my pocket - i think we looked like refugees!! It all went well, the only complainant being a woman who wanted to know why there weren't any gluten-free alternatives. Now honeslty, i feel for people with allergies, i really do, but if you or your child had an allergy, would you not take your own snacks???????? I felt guilty for a nanosecond and then absolved myself of any further guilt upon realising that. They pretty much all went and no-one as far as i know was throwing up in the toilet, so it was a success. Not one i want to repeat any time soon though :) I will post a picture if i can get the camera to work, but it just doesn't look as impressive as i thought it would - believe me - there was blood, sweat and quite a few tears shed over those muffins!! There were only 60 in the end after Quality Control - some just weren't good enough to take.
Friday
--------
I've been very neglectful of the blog this week, i wrote all that on monday and saved it as a draft for some reason. Feeling a bit claustrophobic with being quarantined with the pox - no-one else showing any signs of getting it yet.....hopefully we can escape with just Jenna having it and actually see some people during the second week of the holidays. Looking forward to escaping and having adult conversation tomorrow over brunch with Paddie; i always know i'm going a tad stir-crazy when i start talking out loud to myself in different accents, this week's accents being Russian and Scouse. Very odd, i'm aware, but one of the perils of being a stay at home mother, or, as the bank manager once pointed out to me, my official title i should use on forms is a Home Executive. Tee hee.
Heidi is now standing on her own for short periods of time and being very chuffed with herself :) She's also very into kissing at the minute so we're all treated to wide open-mouthed slobbery 'kisses', followed by a pat on the back and a very cute "aaaaahhh" sound - she's just adorable :) And she's cut her two top teeth this week as well, so she's been very busy.
Having a BBQ tomorrow night with Adrian's bandmates and their girlfriends - it's just occurred to me to check if any of them have not had Chickenpox........ must check. And, WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO, the clocks go forward tomorrow night, la la la la la!!!!!! Here comes summer!!!!!!!
