School Holidays

That time again, school hols for 2 weeks - so far so good, no-one's too bored yet!!!

Typical children though, not at the age where they relish lying in bed until lunchtime, have been waking up at completely inappropriate times of the morning. This morning we were joined by Heidi at 5.37am, who sat and practised her pincher grasp by trying to pluck individual eyelashes from my slumbering eyes. Alternated of course by sitting her wet nappy-encased bottom on my head. Next we were joined by Jenna at 5.43 who came in irritatingly full of beans, and proceeded to jump on the bed. Then at precisely 5.46 we were joined by Leah who wanted to know why people snore. I promised to get a library book that explained the mechanics of it and had to get out of bed due to lack of room, and because it was glaringly obvious i wasn't going to get to sleep in until 8am. By 6.05 i was showered, dressed and making myself a rather large espresso. It's now 7.38 and i feel like i've been up for HOURS.

Ho hum. My day doesn't get much better as i've promised to go to kindy and clean the drains; another lady was meant to be helping me but her kids haven't had chickenpox so it's just me and my brood unfortunately.

Yesterday was a gorgeous day; it was really sunny, so we dusted off the paddling pool that seems to lose more parts every year and accumulates more and more scary-looking spiders in it's many folds. Anyway, the kids loved it, Heidi especially :) And i sat nearby with my feet up and a good book - school holidays DO have some redeeming factors!

Right, off to get the kids ready and then i think i'll let them go nuts with some rich tea biscuits and some icing....should be fun :) Lots of love xxxx
