Congrats from Emma's parents!
Ooh, ooh, ooh, i want to say congratulations to someone but i'm not sure i'm allowed.......but they know who they are so congratulations!! to the pair of you :) I got all teary yesterday for you both!
No more earthquakes as yet. Thank goodness.
The teacher parent interview was not what we thought it was going to be. It was actually called a 'meet the teacher evening'....where you get to meet your child's teacher and discuss plans for the year. Sounds to me like an interview. What, in fact, it was, was the headteacher giving the parents who did turn up a lecture on what we should be giving our children to eat, drink, when to put them to bed, not to argue in front of the kids, etc etc and something about some kind of octopus serum injected into a brain - i was nodding off a bit by that stage and wasn't quite sure what octopus serum had to do with putting children to bed by 7pm. Most bizarre. We did meet Leah's teacher.... for 5 minutes in a large group at the end. And she thought we were Emma's parents. Hmmmmm.
Adrian is playing another gig tonight for a friend's suprise party in a Ponsonby bar. At this stage i am sans babysitter so looks like i'll be watching Jane Eyre on telly.
Like Carly, i am struggling with my lenten promise to give up alcohol. I was doing so well all day Wednesday, then Thursday i forgot and had a cold beer. In my defence i forgot that beer was alocoholic and i did only have one.
I have also lost my cooking mojo. I have lost the ability to cook - everything i make turns out really dry, or burnt, or just plain horrible.
Heidi's favourite word is still 'NO' and she has discovered she loves the Fimbles. Every morning we all have to sit in front of the telly with some Fimble shower caps that mum bought for Leah and Jenna on our heads. Fine for kids but by 9.30 i usually have lost circulation and all feeling in my head.
Right, off to read the weekend papers and slob in my dressing gown a bit more.
edited at 7.30pm: Sometimes it is good not to have a babysitter....i have a yummy dinner to eat, then plan on getting in my pj's, watching American Idol, then scoff some chocolate ice cream and snuggle under a blanket whilst watching my movie......tis gonna be a goood night!
