Happy Birthday Chris!

Happy birthday to my little brother, 17 today - just a spring chicken! He's the handsome one on the end........ i'm sure the handsome one on the other end won't mind you thinking he's 17 so i won't specify which end ha ha! I'm so proud of Chris; he's my baby brother and out of all of my siblings it's obviously him being born i remember the most; i remember the night he came home (and feeling rather jealous, truth be told, so i made up some sob story that i was sure i was adopted!), i remember him falling asleep in my arms and i remember him having nightmares and coming to me in the middle of the night ( got told off for that one though - shouldn't encourage him to get up in the middle of the night apparently! What cruel cruel parents!) He's now an amazing young man and i'm so proud that since they came to visit us that all my friends are so impressed with his maturity and his talent. So happy happy birthday Chris, hope you have a great great day and that you're feeling well; we all love you lots! And remember, "you're just so familiaaaaaaarrrrr" !!!

Obviously don't mean it about the cruel parents, i'm fighting a losing battle myself with my girls at the minute creeping into each others' beds in the middle of the night, more often than not we find Leah in Jenna's bed and poor jenna crammed up against the wall from where Leah's spreadeagled herself. And if it's not that it's leah coming in at 3am saying she's having nightmares and can she pleeeeeease sleep in our bed, it's become so regular that i think the nightmares bit is just a fabrication in the hope we'll take pity and let her in. And if it's not that it's Heidi wanting milk or a cuddle. Or Jenna saying she's wet the bed. Or Adrian coming home late................What i'd give for a whole nights' sleep! So i can of course with parental hindsight realise why i used to get told off for letting Chris in my bed when he had nightmares. Although at the time i recall being most put out that my good deed went completely unrecognised!!

I meant to put in a thank you letter to Mary and Loll that the girls absolutely LOVE, i mean really LOVE the Joseph and his Technicolour Coat video they sent for us - thank you!!! Now i thought I had worn out my copy of Jason Donovan in Joseph - i'm not a patch on these two. And on the other side of the coin, whereas i am very grateful and it is such a cool present, there is only so much Donny Osmond a woman can take in a day! I had to intervene when i was poorly the other week, i thought maybe i was dreaming that i kept hearing Joseph but i think they had it on loop and after the 3rd viewing i had to crawl to the video player to press stop. It's Jenna's absolute favourite, she likes singing "blue and orange and chocolate and yellow and brown and green and pink and purple and" etc etc!!

Have to laugh, the girls are watching Maori TV - they can't understand a word but they're absolutely enthralled! Haere Ra! xx
